The origins of Muckleroy’s Tree Service dates back to 1987 when owner James Muckleroy and his wife Sherri decided to start a lawn and landscaping business. “We were going to college at the time,” James said. “We started a lawn service because we were a young married couple.” James and Sherri figured they would earn more with the lawncare business than they would waiting tables. The couple purchased a rebuilt lawn boy for $125. That and a push broom was all they needed to get things rolling. So, their journey began and where there is grass to cut, there are usually trees. “I started trimming trees because I was doing the lawns, but it wasn’t like it is now,” James said.
Over the course of those first years, they added better equipment as they could afford it. They slowly added climbing gear to get more tree cutting work. It didn’t take long to realize that the yard and landscape business was slowly but steadily giving way to more and more tree work. Luckily for James, his son Bryce stepped up to the plate to help complete the tree jobs. Both father and son enjoy the work they do which offers different challenges with every job. Today, the business concentrates on tree removals, tree pruning as well as stump grinding. Muckleroy’s also offers self serve firewood pickup, milled fireplace mantles and inexpensive mulch from our tree service waste.
